Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. For HVAC systems, DART has equipment approaching end of life. Although some equipment replacements are taking place, DART see benefits: a. Quicker pace to improve efficiency, provide equipment standardization, performance and design standards. b. Addressing the interactive effects of previous renovations (e.g. proper ventilation for condensing units or air handling design in office spaces). c. Building controls for HVAC setpoints and schedules is an area where DART can take a quantum leap forward. This would consist of centralized controls under a common platform, standardized setpoints across DART facilities, remote troubleshooting of systems leading to more efficient preventative maintenance. 2. For Lighting, DART has already embarked on a LED Lighting program and expanded its efforts towards improved safety and security at light rail stations. DART seeks a fast-track DARTwide LED conversion and leverage the savings to implement HVAC, controls and other solutions.
