Specifications include, but are not limited to: UHF Radio System General Requirements: The land mobile radio system shall support voice and be expandable for data services. The land mobile radio network shall easily be expandable in terms of coverage (increasing the number of repeaters, portable, mobile, and other technologies such as Voice Over IP (VOIP) and wired/wireless networking. Expansions of the land mobile radio network shall be possible without removal of existing repeaters or network management facilities unless otherwise agreed upon. A cost-efficient maintenance and warranty plan for the radio network and components must be ensured, as well as expedited access to spare parts or loaner radios. Portable Radio Features: 160 Portable (hand-held) radios should be UHF (403-470 mhz) utilizing DMR Tier II TDMA technology and a wattage of 4 watts (or maximum wattage allowed by FCC regulations). Radios that have user-selectable wattage from 1 watt to FCC maximum allowable wattage. Portable radios should support both analogue and digital modes (DMR/TDMA) and be equipped with a minimum of the following accessories for each radio: Li-Ion battery; belt clip; antenna; and charger. Portable radios are to have a minimum of 16 channels, support earpiece accessories and external microphone (lapel mic) accessories. Radios should be capable to scan analogue channels and digital channels. Radios should have the capability to be able to transmit and receive on a priority call group, or be able to monitor a priority (emergency) channel. Radio Service Software (RSS) and a programming cable is to be provided. Repeater Features: A total of 4 DMR TDMA UHF repeaters are to be installed. Repeaters are to be programmed to handle TDMA communications. Each repeater shall be 50 watts; include a UHF tuned duplexer; 7 Db omnidirectional antenna for the configured UHF frequency range; lightning arrestor; and surge suppressor; coax, connectors, antenna mounts; and other required connectors are to be included.
