Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1.7.1 The University desires to establish a partnership with a contractor (each a “Respondent”) who will provide a high-quality program for the University’s students, faculty, staff and guests. The Respondent will operate at the highest level, maximizing the services to the diverse students, faculty, staff and surrounding community while minimizing the costs, risks and environmental impact to the University. 1.7.2 The University has expanded greatly over the past several years and is poised to continue its growth. Student volume on campus is expected to increase as residential housing meets and exceeds capacity, apartment living adjacent to campus expands through the University’s strategic initiative, and community pedestrian traffic increases as the University becomes a destination point. The Pouring Rights program will be important to sustain growth and campus life, and therefore a strong relationship is desired in the best interest of both the University and its strategic partners. 1.7.3 The Pouring Rights program will be a component to the University’s success, including support of its Strategic Plan objectives. The key focus areas are: • Education Programs (e.g. curriculum development, instructional innovation, quality enhancement); • External Relations (e.g. fund raising, government and system relations, accrediting bodies); • Internal Operations (e.g. facilities, technology); • Mission & Values; • People (e.g. faculty, staff, students); • Scholarship & Creative Activity (e.g. research and creative activity support, recognition enhancement). 1.7.4 The University has identified opportunities for improvement. Currently, the campus environment lacks a “Wow!” factor and is void of vibrant student experiences. It will be important for the Respondent to propose strategies to turn weaknesses into strengths. There are limited off-campus retail locations within walking distance, making it even more important that the selected Respondent be a proactive partner to build robust on-site Services. 1.7.5 The Respondent shall be proactive and consistently meet or exceed the expectations of the customer, including improving access to state-of-the-art equipment and products. The Customer is defined, in no particular order, as: • students; • conference/catering participants and visitors; and • faculty and staff 1.7.6 The Setzer Student Center recently underwent a complete renovation. The Pouring Rights program is a key component of this centrally located facility, and the Respondent shall be an integral part of improving the campus experience through innovative solutions and offerings. The Respondent shall be proactive in working with the University to expand offerings in strategic locations on campus.
