Specifications include, but are not limited to: Chargers shall supply DC current for remote control, automatic indication, protective relaying, and regulating apparatus, and shall charge stationary storage batteries at LCRA Electric Transmission and Distribution Substation facilities. 5.01 For typical LCRA substation facility applications, the Charger shall be connected in parallel with a lead-acid Battery bank & DC panel-board. In this configuration, the Charger shall supply current for all load demands up to its rated capacity, and the Battery bank shall supply current for momentary high-load current events. 5.02 The AC supply voltage will be 240 Volts, single-phase, 60 hertz 5.03 The Charger shall operate within the environmental conditions of Section 7 without de-rating 5.04 The battery eliminator option shall be provided 8.01 The Charger cabinet shall be provided with the following mechanical features: 8.01.01 Convection cooled, NEMA Type 1, ventilated steel with wall-mounting brackets 8.01.02 Complete, unencumbered access to all components 8.01.03 Meters, indicating lights and potentiometers mounted on the front of the hinged access panel 8.01.04 Knock-out panels for conduit installation 8.01.05 Painted enamel finish over primer on inner and outer surfaces 8.01.06 Front-opening panel(s) for easy access to replaceable and/or regularly maintained components. Components, cards, modules, heat sinks, etc., shall be easily removed and/or serviced.
