Specifications include, but are not limited to: The contractor shall remove the following Asbestos Containing Building Materials wet, containerize the waste, and dispose of the materials as defined in general asbestos abatement specifications. Laboratory testing of this building and building remains did detect asbestos fibers in concentrations greater than 1%. Asbestos fibers were found in the following materials in the building. At the time of this inspection, the building was uninhabitable but did not present a danger when the inspection was conducted. The asbestos abatement contractor will be responsible for the collection and disposal of all carpet, furniture and other porous materials that are contaminated with asbestos containing materials. 1. Joint Compound / Texture: The material is applied to the drywall that was / is attached to the ceilings and walls of the original house. The material has fallen on the floor in several areas. The contractor will need to remove the porous items that cannot be cleaned as asbestos waste. There is approximately 3,392 SF of this material. This estimated amount does not include contaminated materials that must be disposed of as asbestos contaminated materials.
