Specifications include, but are not limited to: The required services to be provided are as-needed transportation and disposal of hazardous waste services for the Department of State Health Services (DSHS) Lab. Services shall include, at minimum, transportation, storage, landfill disposal, recycling, fuel blending and incineration, as applicable. Services shall include the following: a) All paperwork, registrations, permits and applications with regulatory agencies for the labeling, packaging, transport, and disposal of hazardous materials generated. b) Materials for services include, at minimum, Department of Transportation (DOT) approved shipping containers for the collection of bulk waste: fifty-five (55) gallon steel drums, fifty-five (55) gallon poly drums, thirty (30) gallon poly drums, one (1) cubic yard boxes, and others as necessary. c) Contractor shall provide a minimum of two (2) employees present during hazardous waste pick-ups for safety precautions in the handling of hazardous waste. d) Contractor shall package and sort hazardous materials for disposal and preparation of inventory for each drum or lab pack. e) Contractor shall pick up hazardous materials, transport to and dispose of the materials at an approved Treatment Storage and Disposal Facility. f) Contractor shall ensure that the transportation of hazardous waste from its point of generation to its point of treatment, storage, or disposal is documented through an approved Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) manifest system. g) The documentation of all materials removed from the Laboratory Services Section shall include documentation for Biennial and Annual Waste Summary reporting.
