Specifications include, but are not limited to: District is looking for Leased Lit Fiber, Leased Dark Fiber, and Self-Provisioned ring or equivalent Network at twenty gigabits per second (20 Gbps) and upgradable up to one-hundred gigabits per second (100 Gbps). The RFP is for five (5) and ten (10) years with up to three (3) optional five (5) year extensions subject to approval by Schools and Libraries Division and District funding. Dark fiber solutions should be for at least a minimum of 3 pairs of fiber optic cables, six strands, from each remote site to the School District Core Ring or Data Center. For Leased Dark Fiber and SelfProvisioned, network equipment will be needed to light the fiber, Appendix B must be completed for the equipment. Maintenance and operations will also be awarded.
