Broadcast application of herbicides must be made with the flex-5 unit or a zoned boomless spray head capable of turning on and off individual zones on the truck anytime Johnson grass is present to improve safety and maintenance efficiency. 7.6.2. Applications must begin when the Johnson grass is beginning to grow. This operation must continue until October 15th per pesticide label as directed. 7.6.3. TxDOTwill supply surfactant for the herbicide operations. Vendor must mix the surfactant per the current herbicide manual. TxDOTmay require blue dye be used on applications of overspray. Vendor must mix per the manufacture's recommended standard. 7.6.4. Vendor must use appropriate aquatic herbicide or basal bark treatment according to TxDOTs current herbicide operations manual as directed. 7.6.5. Rates for the broadcast application may change during the course of this purchase order. All applications must follow TxDOTs current Herbicide Operations Manual. A copy of the current herbicide operations manual will be provided by TxDOT prior to beginning work. 7.6.6. The engineer or designated licensed TxDOT personnel will determine the level of vegetation management to be used within the right of way. The engineer or designated licensed TxDOT personnel will direct the vendor of the following: 7.6.6.1. Location of application sites 7.6.6.2. Timing of herbicide application 7.6.6.3. Proper herbicide activity 7.6.6.4. Selection of herbicides 7.6.6.5. Proper application rates 7.6.6.6. Proper application methods
