COLD WATER METERS - All meters shall meet or exceed AWWA Standard C700 and C701 latest revision and the minimum specifications herein. All meters must be ANSI/NSF61 certified. All meters must be low lead, complying with the rule as specified in the amendment to the Safe Drinking Water Act (SB 3874). All meters must have absolute encoder registers. Encoder register shall provide value added flow data including leak, tamper and back flow detection when connected to a compatible radio frequency transmitter. All meters shall have the ability to mount and connect to a radio frequency transmitter providing a communication link for the transmission of information from the register. All meters shall be certified by ITRON, Inc as compatible with ITRON’S water ERT module. All meters must utilize the ITRON in-line connector. Each meter shall include a stainless steel strainer or a strainer of a suitable non-corrosive material. It shall fit snugly to the casing and shall be rigid, easy to remove and have an effective straining area at least two times that of the main case inlet. All external nuts, bolts and washers shall be bronze or other non-corrosive material.
