Specifications include, but are not limited to: removal of non-hazardous solid waste (refuse) from containers on the San Angelo State Supported Living Center (SgSSLC) campus. Contractor shall provide requested services and supply all necessary vehicles, equipment, and containers for the collection, transportation, and processing of refuse. See Table A for required containers and service frequency. Refuse shall mean the dayto-day accumulations of discarded and unwanted putrescible and non-putrescible building and kitchen waste, including but not limited to food, food residues and materials necessarily used for packaging, storing, preparing, and consuming same, usually defined as “garbage,” and all combustible and noncombustible waste materials resulting from the usual routine of domestic housekeeping including but not limited to boxes, cartons, wrapping, crockery, plastic containers, fixtures, and papers and small electronic appliances such as toasters, vacuum cleaners, and televisions. Christmas trees, wreaths, and other ornamental indoor plants are included this definition, as well as incidental quantities of construction and demolition materials from small project jobs. Collections shall be accepted provided that the materials are properly contained in the provided waste containers. For the purposes of this solicitation, the terms refuse, rubbish, garbage, solid waste, trash, and waste shall be synonymous unless otherwise more specifically defined. Solid Waste Removal Services a) Contractor shall furnish waste containers or Agency approved previously used containers. Contractor shall place the containers in locations agreed upon by the SgSSLC representative and Contractor. b) Front load bin trucks will be escorted to kitchen and day camp areas. Skid bin trucks will be let in the back gate to load/unload 40 yard dumpsters as scheduled. c) Services shall include scheduled and as-requested services (see Table A). d) Contractor shall collect, transport, and dispose of all non-hazardous solid waste materials. All waste collected and removed by Contractor shall be disposed of at an authorized, licensed disposal site. e) The Contractor shall return containers to their original locations after servicing. f) Contractor shall repair or replace containers that becomes broken or damaged through normal wear and tear. g) For as-needed services, the SgSSLC representative shall request the Contractor’s services via phone or written request. h) Upon request from the SgSSLC representative, the Contractor shall relocate waste containers to a different location on the facility’s campus, at no additional cost to the facility i) Within five (5) business days of contract award, the Contractor shall deliver the waste containers to the facility locations provided by SgSSLC, at no cost to the facility. j) Within five (5) business days of contract expiration or termination, the Contractor shall remove the waste containers from the facility locations provided by SgSSLC, at no cost to the facility. l) The Contractor shall inform the designated SgSSLC representative when waste removal services cannot be performed due to inaccessibility to containers. m) The Contractor shall replace waste removal containers damaged by the Contractor at no cost to the facility. The Contractor shall replace waste removal containers damaged by the facility for a one-time charge equal to or less than the price of a one-month rental for the container. n) During the contract term, SgSSLC reserves the right to add or remove waste containers with five (5) day advanced notice. o) During the contract term, SgSSLC reserves the right to increase or reduce service frequency.
