THE WEST TEXAS A&M UNIVERSITY ENTERPRISE CENTERIS SEEKING A EXPANSION PLAN PROPSAL FOR THEINCUBATION PROGRAM IN AMARILLO, TEXAS. The West Texas A&M University Enterprise Center is seeking to expand itsincubation program, considering the addition of more space, two new sectors(kitchen and clean tech), and a co working program. The work will be dividedinto the following three components:Option 1: Sustainability and Program ExpansionOption 2: Facility ExpansionOption 3: EDA Grant Preparation AssistanceA bid will need to be submitted for each option, each of the three components isdescribed below.Sustainability and Program ExpansionDevelop a plan for sustainable growth for the incubation program,examining of the potential expansion of the program and the facility, andimproving the long term sustainability of the program. The plan needs to includethe following:Conduct interviews with twenty to thirty stakeholders to gain anunderstanding or the current incubation program and theopportunities for growth and expansion.Assess the viability of adding two sector foci to the program: kitchenand clean tech. Evaluate the market potential through acombination of stakeholder interviews and drawing upon ourexpertise in sector-focused incubation (not a statistical analysis)Evaluate the market for the creation of a co working program, anddetermine and appropriate program for the West Texas A&MUniversity Innovation Center.Determine the sustainable size for the incubator, and identify the SFand type of space (example: office, lab, etc.) necessary toaccommodate two new sectors and co working (if deemedappropriate).Prepare a Sustainability Plan which includes recommendations onhow to enhance the long-term sustainability of the incubationprogram, including diversification of revenue streams, pricingmodel, equity and royalty arrangements with clients, sector focus,facility and program expansion and regional innovation clusterfunding. All recommendations will incorporate incubation bestpractices.Facility Expansion: Evaluate the facility needs for an expansion of the existingspace, based upon the recommendations in the Sustainability Plan. To include thefollowing work:Assess the facility needs and develop a set of specs for an approximately40,000 SF expansion of the current incubator and possible modification ofthe existing incubator space. Based upon the sector recommendations,develop a set of specs for facility and equipment. (No travel necessary.)Work with an architect (to be hired by the client), and provide feedback onthe development of the architect's plans for the expansion.
