Tunable (mode-hope free) seeder tuning range of 1020-1080nm (minimal range). • A larger tuning range is more desirable in order to be able to tune the laser’s spectral output onto more potential water absorption lines. It is also needs to have a fiber coupled output. Amplifier Output: CW • Our current experiment is utilizing a VERDI laser (1-18W, CW, single mode, 532nm). We would like to have a laser system within this output range but at different wavelength(s). The minimum wattage acceptable shall be 1.0W. Amplifier shall cover at least the spectral range from 1030 nm to 1080 nm. Amplifier should have a fiber coupled input and optics associated with accepting tunable seeder output. Narrow Spectral Linewidth: • The plan is to tune the laser to various water absorption lines to be able to conduct laser propagation research through relevant environments (water vapor). The spectral purity and linewidth are important to be able to tune to “individual” specific wavelengths (water vapor lines). • Maximum spectral linewidth 50 kHz Capability of separating the “seeder” laser from the amplifier portion of the system. • We would like to have a laser system, which would include a seeder and amplifier section, to be easily separated, so we could use the low output seed in other current experiments (OPO & OPA) and locations needed. This will give us the ability to use the laser for multiple purposes.
