1. The San Antonio State Hospital campus covers several acres that have a variety of trees. These include, but are not limited to; Live oak, Pecan, Mesquite, Palms, Crape Myrtles, Arizona Ash, Bald Cypress, Ashe Juniper, and Red Oak. a) Wood type may be referred to as soft wood, hard wood or diseased wood and it is understood that wood type and location access may affect how services are quoted, performed, and invoiced. b) Access to some areas is extremely limited with no margin for error due to proximity of the surrounding structures. c) When called for services contractor must be able to provide a 15–20-person crew (contractor employees). d) Contractor must have sufficient equipment, must be on site and ready to service what is needed either on the same day or less than 24 hours. e) Contractor must be prepared and ready for any natural disaster that requires their services expeditiously and safely. f) Contractor personnel assigned to perform the services must be fully trained and, at minimum, have 2 years’ relevant experience. g) The required services to be provided are Contractor services shall include at minimum and as applicable the following: h) Inspect trees for disease or pest(s) and determine the cause of ailment. i) Air spading or air tilling soil j) Trim overhanging branches and limbs that interfere with daily activity, pose a threat to public safety or may be cause for potential interference or harm to buildings and property.
