Specifications include, but are not limited to: Approved providers will deliver short-term mental health services to students either through in-person and/or through virtual teletherapy. Services will include access to 6-8 during the academic year with a mental health professional for children and adolescents. Additional sessions may be provided if recommended by the clinician after consulting with parent/guardian and the student’s counselor. The role of the mental health services provider(s) will be to provide initial assessment and intervention in addressing the mental health needs of the student and if additional needs were to be identified in the process, the clinicians will refer the student/family to other community providers. A counselor/campus designee referral process will be set up, preferably electronically, as well as an electronic process for obtaining parental consent for services.
