Specifications include, but are not limited to: The City of Dallas is requesting Proposals for a five-year Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (ID/IQ) service contract to provide Temporary licensed Veterinarians for the Dallas Animal Services. This solicitation is intended to secure service contract for temporary labor of licensed professional veterinarians to assist the City of Dallas’, Dallas Animal Services with day-to-day operations. Provides clinical and preventive care for domestic or exotic animals; performs examinations, identifies diagnosis, and determines treatment. Interacts, engages, and communicates with staff pertaining to issues associated with the health, feeding, husbandry, nutrition, breeding and diseases, and injuries to keep all parties informed of the status of animals. Coordinates the administration of various aspects of animal care to effectively care for animals and control animal-related human health problems. Consults and collaborates with other medical, professionals to facilitate specialty animal care services and state and county health agencies regarding public health issues. Coordinates the planning of the daily activities of the veterinary function to ensure efficient and effective operation. Orders, issues, and administers drugs and medical supplies in compliance with federal, state, and local requirements. Assists, supports, and helps manager in the development and implementation of policies which impact animal and, indirectly, human health.
