Specifications include, but are not limited to: • Telemedicine services for students and staff; • Provide software for use in telemedicine programs; • Provide appropriate clinical and administrative personnel including record facilitator and engagement coordinator; • Real-time audiovisual interaction between the Physician and the patient (for example, a simple digital camera on a laptop or a desktop with secure broadband internet; peripherals such as digital scopes add to the experience); • Store-and-forward technology, as long as the Physician uses clinical information from clinically relevant photographic or video images, including diagnostic images, or the patient’s relevant medical records; or • Another form of audiovisual technology that allows the Physician to satisfy the accepted standard of care; • Ensure all hardware, software, devices, and applications used for the telemedicine program comply with all state and federal rules, regulations, and statutes; including, but not limited to privacy and security laws and rules; • Provide clinical consultation via telemedicine promptly by providers who are appropriately trained and licensed (as applicable) to provide such telemedicine services, and such telemedicine services shall be provided by all applicable laws, regulations, and professional standards; • Manage cases collaboratively with school nurses and counselors; • If a telemedicine consultation is unavailable promptly, either due to equipment or connection problems or due to consultant time constraints, the Physician will provide alternative means of communication through telephone consultations, providing adequate medical guidance to the school nurse; • Ensure that all staff members participating in telemedicine consultations are appropriately trained in the operation of the telemedicine program; • Provide access to a wide spectrum of care including primary and acute care, behavioral and mental health, speech therapy, dental screenings, nutritional counseling, and prevention and health education; • Pay malpractice insurance and supervision for staff; • Sign and oversee collaborative agreement for Yesenia Trevino, MSN, APRN, FNP-C; • Provide evidence of insurability to MCISD; • Provide telemedicine services to any uninsured/underinsured students of the District at no cost to the patient or District; • Ensure the same requirements for patient privacy and information security that apply for in-person visits apply to visits conducted over video; • Understand that the Physician will be held to the same standard of care for protecting patient information in a telemedicine practice as standard practice; thus, the storage of electronic files, video, and images must be approached with the same caution as physical documents; • Must be HIPAA Compliance and Patient Privacy
