The purpose of this project is to enhance the City’s telecommunications infrastructure by securing flexible, scalable, and future-ready connectivity solutions to include: • Transition of the City’s contracts away from reliance on a cooperative agreement, allowing for greater flexibility and alignment with the City’s specific requirements. • Transition existing DIR-managed broadband services including both fiber and copper connections as well as managed circuits, to either the current service provider or a new provider, based on what best meets the City’s operational and strategic needs. • Deliver connectivity solutions for City locations that are not currently serviceable by the City’s own fiber transport network. • Support the migration of legacy AT&T copper lines to modern, alternative services, as well as support new service installations where needed. • Establish a foundation for accommodating the City’s evolving telecommunications needs across all departments and facilities.
