The Houston Independent School District (HISD) exists to strengthen the social and economic foundation of Houston by giving its youth the highest-quality education available anywhere through a comprehensive core curriculum and specialized, challenging instructional and career-preparation programs. HISD is the largest public school system in Texas, and the seventh-largest in the United States. In recent years, students in HISD have made strong academic gains. In order for HISD to continue to excel, it is imperative that the districts public websites support the ever-growing needs of students, parents, and employees, as well as the community. The Districts primary web provider is Schoolwires. The goal of this Request for Proposal is requesting responses to assist schools and departments that may require additional or supplemental web services. To address that goal, HISD is seeking proposals for a design, and/or support system for the creation, management, and/or delivery of HISD school and department websites. Requirements A. General Requirements 1. HISD is seeking proposals for a Web-based solution for the design and/or hosting of supplemental public Web sites for departments and schools. 2. Describe your pricing strategies and invoicing process. Please provide a sample of your itemized billing. 3. Please provide a list of any and all fees for services charged by your company. 4. Provide a list of references and work done including any K-12 customers. 5. District policy prohibits third-party advertising without express permission from the district. The system shall not display third-party advertisement, advertising is not permitted.
