Specifications include, but are not limited to: Perform environmental scan of university-based arts collections, open-air museums, and other organizations of art in public spaces to identify Public Art UHS Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats (SWOT analysis) in obtaining national and international specialized media coverage of its collection and programs. Working with Public Art UHS leadership, develop and execute a plan to secure national and international specialized media coverage of Public Art UHS, its collection and programs, with emphasis on significant new permanent commissions and temporary public art projects. Identify target national and international media for communications. Pitch Public Art UHS’s story, programs, initiatives, commissions, successes and opportunities to national and international media. Generate strategy and relevant content (for traditional and digital platforms) associated with significant new permanent commissions and temporary public art projects. Artists whose commissions are presently in development with Public Art UHS include: Jorge Pardo (temporary, 2021), Leo Villareal (permanent, 2022), Shahzia Sikander (temporary, 2022), and Kaarina Kaikkonen (temporary, 2023). Working with Public Art UHS leadership, develop realistic annual targets and long-term goals for obtaining national and international specialized media coverage, including a method to measure outcomes. Coordinate these activities with Public Art UHS and any appropriate departments within the University of Houston System. As part of its scope of services, the selected firm will be expected to attend virtual meetings with Public Art UHS leadership and staff or others as required to ensure the timely delivery of the contracted services.
