Specifications include, but are not limited to: HHSC PCS is seeking competitive bids to establish Contract(s) for Service Contract for Cepheid GeneXpert Instruments at the Department of State Health Services Laboratory. The required services to be provided are maintenance, inspection, and repairs (by way of a service agreement) for two (2) Cepheid GeneXpert 16-16 module instruments at the Department of State Health Services (DSHS) Laboratory. These instruments are utilized to detect the presence of various disease-producing bacteria in human specimens, including Mycobacterium tuberculosis, rifampin-resistant M. tuberculosis, and carbapenem-resistant Enterobacterales. These rapid, accurate tests are critical to public health infection and disease control. To meet College of American Pathologists (CAP) and Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) licensure requirements for testing human specimens on these instruments, the DSHS Laboratory must have a valid service contract for maintenance, service and repair of the Cepheid GeneXpert instruments.
