Specifications include, but are not limited to: Maintaining a visible patrol. Monitoring entrances. Making sure that the premises are locked and secure. Monitoring alarm and security systems. Maintaining security equipment. Executing emergency procedures. Interacting with the public, providing customer service. Using verbal de-escalation techniques to manage conflicts. Assisting with restraining individuals who pose a safety risk. Calling for law enforcement when needed. Present a positive Customer Service image at all times. Security Personnel will report to his/her shift on time. Give assistance to customers in a helpful, friendly and courteous manner maintaining a "courteous service attitude". Use proper radio procedures and keep transmissions as brief as possible. Report any and all incidents directly to the UMC Security Supervisor. Report all safety hazards and security violations observed. Check all the secured areas by physically trying all exterior doors to the area to ensure they are locked and closed. Do not enter a secured area unless there is a specific reason to do so. Responsible for policing buildings and grounds to prevent fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry. Assists staff with unruly visitors and patients. Periodically, a minimum of once an hour, tours buildings and grounds, examining doors, windows, and gates to determine that they are secure and not tampered with. Confronts unauthorized persons for questioning, routes or detains them, or telephones police for assistance, according to the circumstance. Patrols grounds to detect unauthorized persons or vehicles. Checks cars and verifies if vehicles are parked in restricted areas, such as fire zones, turnarounds, ambulance entrances or reserved parking spaces. Checks exterior lighting and access routes to emergency and fire entrances. Answers visitor’s questions concerning locations of various offices, rooms, and other areas within the clinic.
