Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Prairie View A&M University (PVAMU) University Police Department (UPD)y is seeking security services to perform foot-patrols of the main campus located in Prairie View, Texas and the Northwest Houston Center (Graduate School), parking and surrounding area located in Northwest Harris County. Additional security services may be required at student residential areas adjacent parking lots and other properties on the Prairie View campus and in other university-owned locations. The selected security services must be available for use by all business units on campus and off site facilities located in Prairie View Texas and Northwest Houston, Texas. Prairie View A&M University (UPD) currently has 35 commissioned officers and 7 staff members operating four shifts throughout each week. Shifts are generally 12 hour shifts, with regard to Police duty. UPD conducts training in mental health analysis, active shooter training, Executive Protection and S.W.A.T. Training. Prairie View A&M UPD also works with Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (C.O.L.E) to help and assist officers with Certification with the state of Texas.
