Specifications include, but are not limited to:TSLAC requires the Contractor to perform turn-key work to redesign the Sam Houston Regional Library and Research Center’s museum space and lobby, including design of a permanent, static exhibit for the museum space on the history of the area the Center serves, and to oversee implementation of those plans. The Scope of Work under this Request for Proposal (RFP) includes providing a plan and assisting with project management for a full renovation of the museum where the new permanent exhibit will be housed, along with the adjacent lobby, including a review and analysis of the rooms in order to recommend any necessary changes to the footprint of the spaces, color scheme with material samples, furniture selection, floor plan, flooring, track lighting, painting, wall and/or case fabrication, and preparation of specifications for use in procurement of those items or services not being provided by Awarded Contractor; providing the new permanent exhibit for the museum space, including all aspects of research, composition, image selection, original item display selection, case selection, design and incorporation of interactive and audio-visual features, graphic design, preparation of production ready files, floor plan, lighting, fabrication and/or oversight of fabrication, exhibit installation, and plans for continued maintenance and rotation of original items within the exhibit; and preparation of as built drawings for final exhibit design, museum renovations, and any custom work designed and/or completed by Awarded Contractor. TSLAC intends to contract with a single qualified Contractor for completion of this multi-phased project. The Project work will be conducted in conjunction with Center staff and other contractors, as needed.
