Specifications include, but are not limited to: This specification describes a straight-edge snowplow, 8-foot general purpose snowplow with a mount and dismount quick-connect type mechanism moldboard for use in all types of snowplowing conditions where the removal of snow from road surfaces must be accomplished with right- or left-hand discharge. Snowplows must have a stress-free spring type trip assembly that will enable the moldboard to pass over a fixed object and automatically and immediately return to the plowing position without loss of vehicle control. The snowplow shall have a truck frame mount to connect to hitch. The snowplow mount will be installed by TxDOT on a TxDOT 2022–2023 Ford F250-F550 Super Duty truck having a front gross axle weight rating (GAWR) of 5,600 pounds. The approximate weight of the moldboard furnished to this specification shall be between 700 to 800 pounds (less hitch and hydraulics) and meet or exceed all requirements.
