The City of League City is seeking qualified vendors to provide an as needed service of roadway markings to be in TXDOT/City of League City Right-of-Way corridors along various specified streets and/or in municipal parking lots in League City, Texas. The work will consist of installing markings in accordance with the Texas Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (TMUTCD) and/or drawing, sketches, and specifications provided by League City. Bidder is required to provide construction as well as use the stamped approved prints for permitting purposes. Bidder shall obtain all necessary governmental and Rights-of-Way owner’s approval to complete the work in accordance with the Construction Documents provided by the City. Bidder shall furnish all labor, supervision, subcontractors, construction equipment, transportation, licenses, taxes, safety supplies, consumable supplies, materials and all other incidental items and costs required to complete the work. The material to be used to furnish the roadway markings shall be in accordance with DMS-8220 “Hot Applied Thermoplastic” and DMS-8200 “Traffic Paint” and should comply with TXDOT Item 666 – Retroreflectorized Pavement Markings. Materials used for raised pavement markers (RPMs) shall be in accordance with DMS-4200 “Pavement Markers (Reflectorized) and DMS-4300 “Traffic Buttons” as outlines in TXDOT Item 672 – Raised Pavement Markers. Removal of old roadway markings and markers shall be done prior to laying new roadway markings. This shall be done in compliance with TXDOT Item 677 – Eliminating Existing Pavement Markings and Markers. The roadway surface shall be prepared before laying the markings and/or markers as in accordance with TXDOT Item 678 – Pavement Surface Preparation for Markings. Prefabricated roadway markings should be furnished in compliance with DMS-8240 “Permanent Prefabricated Pavement Markings”, with the exception that the color requirement for the black contrast portion does not have to meet the color requirements specified for white or yellow markings as stated in TXDOT Item 668 – Prefabricated Pavement Markings. During progress of the work, Bidder shall comply with the construction standards and requirements provided by the City and TXDOT. The bidder may be requested to develop additional specifications to include special instructions from manufacturers, fabricators, suppliers, the City, or other authorities having jurisdiction over the work area.
