USDA's Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service has a hangar in need of renovation at Moore Air Base, Edinburg, Texas. Construction design documents divide the project into three separate and distinct phases:
Phase 1 – Exterior and Structural
- Structural repairs and roof.
- Replace exterior window frames, man doors, and exterior metal siding.
Phase 2 – Interior Rooms and Spaces at Front of Hangar
- Remodel and replace areas in front of the hangar.
- Condition the following spaces: break room, offices, locker room, restrooms, and avionics room. Update HVAC system.
- Update area for building code compliance and ADA requirements.
- Add fire suppression to the lean-to/shed area of the hangar.
- Provide infrastructure for the future installation of security system and wi-fi.
Phase 3 – Exterior Landscape and Hangar Main Floor Area
- Repair and paint the interior surfaces of the exterior wall and structural components.
- Repair and paint all interior surfaces of the interior roof structure.
- Add four “Big Ass Fans” or equivalent with individual controls.
- Conduct maintenance (bearings and tracks on the main hangar roll doors).
- Add fire suppression and fire pump to the main hangar area.
- Install underground storage tank for fire suppression system.
