Specifications include, but are not limited to: 4.1 Design Requirements a. Professional Design Our website's design is expected to be visually appealing and emphasize efficiency. H GACs foremost goal is to provide its visitors with easy access to a wide range of information and data resources. The new design should meet H GAC specifications' and integrate with our current functionality. At least three (3) prototypes are required for agency executive review/approval. b. Program Templates Currently there is only one design template used for the entire website. We would like to recognize each of the H-GAC departments' and programs' uniqueness by giving them a distinct design but still adheres to standards set for the entire site. We ask that you be able to provide up to six (6) variations of design templates for each of H-GACs programs and departments. c. Style Sheet Options Give our website editors the ability to select different header, title, and body styles. d. ADA Requirements While H-GAC is not obligated to comply with Section 508, we would like to make every effort to make our site available to all users. Our site should be developed to meet federally mandated accessibility requirements adopted by the Federal Access Board under section 508. Our site should be built in accordance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0, provided by the W3C. e. Maximize Space for Content Currently, a navigation menu header and left-side navigation menu take a large amount of space away from the page content. Our Current template is restricted in horizontal space. Our website's new design should target our audience's wider screen sizes, but also be able to adapt to smaller screens when needed. f. Intuitive Navigation Menus Our website's new design should include navigation menus that are highly visible, streamlined, and makes use of graphical enhancements. g. Better use of Graphics Our current website design relies heavily on text and small, low-quality icons. The redesign should incorporate large, high-quality pictures and graphics for a fresh design. Icon quality should be improved and fit in with the overall theme of the design h. Typography/Font We would like our website to utilize a sans serif typeface. Font should be clean and easy to read. i. Colors Our website's new design should utilize colors that complement H-GAC's logo. j. Sitemap/A-Z Index Our current sitemap/index is a basic long list of all pages included in our website. We need a better way to categorize and display our website index. 4.2 Migration of Existing Functionalities to the new Design a. Calendar of events b. Staff Roster c. Registration forms d. Committee Membership Listings 4.3 Addition of Component Functionalities a. Responsive Web Design for Mobile Devices The redesign must be able to adapt its presentation to accommodate for the varying screen resolutions of all major mobile devices. b. Social Media Integration The redesign should have social media (Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter) sharing integrated into the site-wide template. c. Printer-Friendly View The redesign must include a function to allow for a printer-friendly view. d. New Search Feature We would like to evaluate a new search feature that will yield better results and display the results in a user-friendly matter. 4.4 Technical Specifications & Requirements a.
