Specifications include, but are not limited to: HHSC PCS is seeking competitive bids to establish Contract(s) for rabies testing for the Department of State Health Services (DSHS) Laboratory. Services shall be provided during the DSHS Laboratory renovation project, which will preclude DSHS Laboratory from conducting statutory rabies testing. A. Contractor shall ensure the rabies testing services to be provided will include necropsy, DFA testing, monoclonal testing, bat identification, traditional sequencing, Real-Time RT-PCR. B. Contractor shall provide DSHS the address where the testing materials should be sent. DSHS is responsible to arrange and pay for transport of the materials that will be sent (i.e., rabies specimens and submission forms) to the Contractor providing rabies testing services. DSHS will pay for shipping cost of specimens. C. Contractor shall notify the DSHS designated contract manager what materials will be sent as part of the testing process (i.e., specimens, demographic entry forms, and data). Rabies specimens and submission forms will be submitted by DSHS to the Contractor. Contractor will provide DSHS the address where the materials should be sent. D. Contractor shall ensure samples received will have test results completed within two (2) business days from time of receipt. Any delay in testing turnaround time must be communicated to the designated DSHS contract manager. E. Contractor shall provide results of all tests (i.e., presumptive positive test results, borderline results, normal results, and unsatisfactory results). All results generated must be provided to DSHS. The method for reporting will be determined by the parties involved after contract award.
