Specifications include, but are not limited to: Harris County is seeking qualified vendors to provide certified medical interpretation and translation services for Public Health Services (PHS). Interpreters and translators shall possess excellent public speaking skills and the intellectual capacity to instantly transform idioms, colloquialisms, and other culturally specific references into analogous statements the target audience will understand. Interpreters and translators will be required to assist refugees, medical staff in communicating with each other along with assisting in confirmation calls and translation of documents. Interpreters and translators will assist in facilitating communication regarding the health screening process by disseminating time schedules, procedures, requirements and patient rights and responsibilities to the non-English speaking refugee.
