2.1 Scope The objective of this project is to procure and implement an RF-based Mass Notification Public Address (PA) system that can provide reliable communication to a large campus population in case of emergencies, announcements, or other mass communication needs. The system should be capable of transmitting notifications across various types of environments, including outdoor areas, large buildings, and residence halls utilizing radio frequency (RF) technology. Responding vendors may include alternate pricing without *Installation and Testing. 2.2 Specifications: System Requirements: The system must include the following components and features: • RF Communication Technology: o RF transmitters and receivers with a range suitable for the WTAMU campus, satellite properties, and buildings with basements. o High-quality audio transmission to ensure clear messaging in various environmental conditions. o Ability to broadcast to multiple receivers simultaneously. o Secure and encrypted transmission to prevent unauthorized access. • Public Address (PA) Equipment: o Loudspeakers, amplifiers, and microphone stations. o Integration with existing infrastructure, such as intercom systems, as needed. o May include compatibility with other emergency communication systems (e.g., fire alarms, CCTV). o Provide technical architecture for utilization of approximately 400 loud-speakers and 40 hybrid/digital sign-boards with ability to expand and utilize more. • Mass Notification Capabilities: o Ability to send automated and manual messages, including text, voice, and prerecorded alerts. o May include integration with common notification systems such as SMS, email, and mobile applications. o Scheduled alerts or real-time notifications for events or emergencies. • User Interface: o Simple, intuitive user interface for ease of use by operators. o May include remote access for system management and control. o Cloud-based or locally hosted software forsystem management and monitoring. • Power and Backup: o Uninterruptible power supply (UPS) to ensure continuous operation during power outages. o Battery backup for RF devices to maintain system functionality in the event of power failure. • * Installation and Testing: o Full installation of the RF-based PA system including hardware setup and software configuration. o Comprehensive system testing and calibration to ensure optimal performance.
