The City of Kyle is seeking a consultant to conduct a comprehensive Quality-of-Life Study for People with Disabilities. The goal of this study is to assess city-managed facilities, programs, and services to identify actionable, cost-effective improvements that enhance the quality of life for individuals with disabilities. • Accessibility of City Services and Facilities o Physical Accessibility: Assess the accessibility of city-managed facilities such as public buildings, parks, and transportation services. Identify barriers to access for people with disabilities and recommend feasible solutions to improve physical access in compliance with ADA guidelines. o Digital Accessibility: Evaluate the city’s online services, websites, and digital platforms for accessibility. Ensure that the city’s digital presence is compliant with WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) and is accessible to all users, including those with visual, auditory, or cognitive disabilities. • Health and Wellbeing o Recreation Opportunities: Evaluate the inclusivity and accessibility of recreational programs, community centers, and public spaces for people with disabilities. Review existing adaptive recreation programs and recommend improvements to enhance participation, physical activity, and social interaction. o Wellness Programs: Assess the availability of wellness programs aimed at improving the overall health and well-being of people with disabilities. Evaluate community wellness initiatives that focus on mental, physical, and emotional health, ensuring they are accessible, inclusive, and tailored to meet the needs of individuals with disabilities. • Workforce Integration o Employment Access: Assess policies and initiatives to increase job opportunities for individuals with disabilities, including access to job training programs and workplace accommodations. o Financial Assistance: Assess the awareness of financial assistance programs to promote economic stability and independence for people with disabilities.
