Specifications include, but are not limited to: This RFB is provided by Tom Green County (the County) for the purpose of soliciting bids from prospective vendor(s) to provide parks maintenance services for all parks and five (5) cemeteries located within Tom Green County. • Trash/Litter Removal Services: o Contractor shall pick up, remove, and dispose of all litter, trash, and debris such as paper, cans, trash bags, bottles, etc. that is not intended to be part of normal landscape within park boundaries as needed on Fridays and Mondays (minimum twice per week) yearrounding and scheduling of litter pickup will be established with selected vendor during the contract process. Extra pick-up for Foster, Pugh, and Harper Parks on three-day weekends (National Holiday weekends). Preferably on Friday, Sunday afternoon/evening, and Monday. Thanksgiving Holiday – pick up on Wednesday and Saturday. exclude week of Christmas o Contractor shall include five (5) additional days for unscheduled pickup if needed for special events. o When trash cans are present, the Contractor shall pull trash bags that are 50% or more full and replace with a new trash bag. o Contractor shall supply all trash bags. o Contractor shall provide on-call service within 24 hours to provide litter pickup on an asneeded basis. o Litter shall be collected within parks boundaries only. o It is recommended that all dumpsters be removed from the county parks. If dumpsters remain, litter shall be collected around dumpsters if full/overflowing. o Litter must be disposed of at San Angelo Landfill. Contractor may not dispose of trash in dumpsters located in parks. Contactor shall supply copies of dump ground receipts as requested. • Vegetation Control: o Mowing All lawn areas are to be mowed weekly between March 15th and November 15th of each year and up to twice per month between November 16th and March 14th of each year, or as determined by TGC. Mowing height of approximately three (3) inches and no more than five (5) inches cutting height. Appropriate size mowers shall be used for each area Weed eating, edging, Landscaping Contractor shall trim all turf perimeters along and around curbs, walks, streets, tree rings, edging, utility poles, and other fixtures at each mowing or at intervals sufficient to maintain a well-groomed and neat appearance. Remove all limbs and debris. o Weed Control All planting beds, tree rings, hardscape, and rock areas shall be maintained in a weed-free condition in a manner satisfactory to TGC. All weeds and grass growing through pavement/hardscape areas will be sprayed with an approved herbicide and/or removed, as needed. Weeds and undesirable grasses in planting beds, tree rings, hardscape, and rock areas shall be removed or treated, as needed in a manner satisfactory to TGC. o Tree Trimming Contractor will evaluate all trees and shrubs weekly for pruning as need, and will prune trees according to International Society of Arboriculture (2019) and ANSI A300 Standards. Primary pruning up to eight (8) feet on trees shall be performed during the dormant season. All trees are to be pruned of sucker growth on an as-needed basis.
