Collin County is seeking a firm qualified to provide engineering services for the analysis of traffic congestion and development of construction plans, specifications and cost estimates to make improvements to the intersection of the Outer Loop with US 75 to relieve the current traffic congestion. Westbound traffic on the Outer Loop Service Road at its approach to the US 75 East Service Road and bridge across US 75 has increased to the point of significant congestion during peak hours from the US 75 Service Road to the east. The purpose of this project is to first analyze the cause and nature of the traffic congestion. Once a cause has been identified, the County and firm will determine a solution to the congestion and the firm will develop plans, specifications and a cost estimate to make the necessary improvements to relieve the congestion. The Outer Loop Service Road is one lane in each direction. The bridge over US 75 has six lanes available for use. The southbound US 75 Service Road has two lanes for southbound traffic. The entrance from the US 75 Service Road to the Main Lanes of southbound US 75 is a one-lane ramp.
