Specifications include, but are not limited to: The New University Hospital (NUH) is Phase 6 of UTSW’s multi-phase long-term capital improvement plan for the UT Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas campus. The NUH project includes three new structures: a 13-story Tower for 460 licensed beds and comprehensive diagnostic and treatment services; an adjacent 2-story Materials Management Building and a remote 2-story Thermal Energy Plant. Total size of the three buildings is approximately 1,306,000 square feet. Demolition and site preparation will begin in March 2011. The design team will complete Construction Documents in November 2011. UTSW anticipates that its Construction Manager will achieve Substantial Completion of the Tower on October 31, 2014. With the assistance of the selected Transition Planner, UTSW plans to ready the buildings, train staff, relocate no more than 250 patients and open the NUH facility approximately three months later.
