Specifications include, but are not limited to: 6.1 Provide a new library book collection that integrates E-content using the following criteria: 6.1.1 Approximately 7,000 all AR fiction titles; 7,000 all AR nonfiction titles with K-5 Interest Levels with an additional 1,000 titles consisting of both fiction and nonfiction with Pre-Kindergarten Interest Levels. 6.1.2 Nonfiction average copyright date/collection age of 2015 or newer. 6.1.3 Average copyright date/collection age of 2013 or newer. 6.1.4 Collection must include some "classics," as well as Caldecott Medal, Newbery Medal award winning titles, Texas Library Association recommended books award winners/nominees and e-Content books that align to the Texas Standards. 6.1.5 Collection must be well balanced to support Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS), and State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR) objectives. 6.1.5.1 Must be TEKS searchable with the library collection 6.1.6 100 percent of nonfiction collection from Accelerated Reader (AR) titles excluding titles intended for the Pre-Kindergarten sub collection. 6.1. 7 Easy and picture book collection includes alphabet and counting books. 6.1.7 .1 Grapic Novels may be included in the collection but should only consist of titles with AR Interest levels of LG or MG. No MG+ or YA int\3rest levels. 6.1.8 100 percent of fiction collection from Accelerated Reader (AR) titles excluding titles intended for the Pre-Kindergarten sub collection. 6.1.9 All titles must meet collection development criteria outlined in CCISD Board Policy EFB Local, see Attachment A. 6.1.1 O Average nonfiction reading level 4.0 or less. 6.1.11 Nonfiction reading levels 5.9 or less (emphasis on lower reading levels). 6.1.11 Student collections will be hardbound only. A limited number of board books will be acceptable for the Pre-Kindergarten sub collection. 6.1.12 No adult or young adult titles. All titles should contain publisher designated interest levels between Pre-Kindergarten and fifth grade levels. Avoid titles with interest levels designated only for grade 5 and higher. 6.1.13 One hardbound, unabridged dictionary. 6.1.14 Shelf-ready (AR labels, spine labels, Dewey decimal codes, and bar codes).
