The selected firms will provide both laboratory and field testing services, including the preparation of inspection and testing reports. These services will be "call-out" based, with sampling, investigations, and reporting expected on an as-needed basis. Reports must indicate whether materials meet the standards outlined in the project’s Construction Documents. Categories of Material Testing May Include: • Soil particle size grading and proctor testing • Soil compaction and rolling • Fill material verification • Rebar sizing, coating, and conformance • Concrete mix verification, slump, and strength testing • Steel deck component and weld inspections • Subgrade compaction • Core sampling and paving material assessments o Hot Mix Asphalt Concrete (HMAC) o Roadbed/paving subgrades o Flexible base stockpiles • Special inspections as required by code and regulations Due to project size and complexity, some projects may require: • On-site testing labs • Daily on-site technician availability for extended durations Some of the projects that will be included in the AEDP effort include but may not be limited to: • New Concourse B • Passenger and Utility Tunnel • Intermodal Connection(s) • Utility Infrastructure Campus Wide • Central Utility Plant • Drainage/Storm Water/Environmental • Arrivals and Departures Hall, Taxiways, and Access Roads • Construction Phasing, Laydown, and Utility Access • Existing Terminal Improvements • Curbside and Landside Roadway Improvements • Barbara Jordan Terminal Expansion • Arrivals and Departure Hall • Integrated Baggage Handling System • Surface Parking Areas Testing labs must be capable of responding to urgent requests—typically within 24 hours—to support the Owner's quality control efforts.
