• The tree varieties for this RFP are primarily Crepe Myrtles, Elms, and Pond Cypress. Specific plans with installation points are included in these documents. o Crepe Myrtles must be 3 inch caliper, single straight trunk, height of 11'-13' o Bosque Lacebark Elm trees must be 5 inch caliper, single straight trunk, height of 14'-16' o Pond Cypress must be six inch caliper, strong single straight trunk, height of 15'-17' • DBH – 10 inches (Industry standard specifies that trees greater than 8-inch caliper at 12 inches above the base of the flare shall be measured at 54 inches (DBH) above the base of the flare (soil grade)). • Container type: Ball and burlap ("B&B"). If different, please describe. (see "Vendor Questionnaire" section). • Root ball dimensions – Trees must be dug at a minimum ratio of 10:1, root ball to trunk caliper. • Root collar is visible and there are no girdling roots present. • Plant acceptance criteria - The Contractor must submit photographs to the City for approval prior to procurement. Please include photographs of each tree, taken from multiple angles and all sides, with an object for scale and measuring stick in the photo. • Trees grown in north Texas are preferred. • Anchoring System: Per plan.
