Specifications include, but are not limited to: WSRCA serves as the leadership and governing body for the local workforce development system serving the nine-county area that surrounds Austin/Travis County but does not include Travis County. It does include Bastrop, Blanco, Burnet, Caldwell, Fayette, Hays, Lee, Llano, & Williamson counties. The Board is one of 28 local workforce development boards established by the Texas Legislature in 1995. The Board is responsible for planning and oversight of workforce development activities in the local workforce development area. It also serves as the designated administrative entity and grant recipient for federal and state workforce development funds allocated to the local area. WSRCA is a non-profit corporation and maintains a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status under Internal Revenue Service code. The organization is governed by a 25-member board of directors appointed by the Chief Elected Officials of the nine county area. Board members represent business, education, labor, community-based organizations, economic development, vocational rehabilitation, public assistance, and the public employment service. WSRCA has a staff of 11 full-time employees with annual revenues of approximately $26 million. WFS currently has no outstanding or unresolved claims, complaints or lawsuits.
