Specifications include, but are not limited to: 3.1 Successful bidder to provide services utilizing high-speed tub grinding equipment or City approved alternate. Manufacturer specification on equipment to be utilized shall be included with bid submittal and shall provide information on the manufacturer, model and model specifications including operating capacity in tons per hour and cubic yards per hour processed. Yard waste grinding equipment shall be self- powered. The City of Waco will not provide fuel, electrical power or other means to sustain the operation of the bidders’ equipment. Yard waste grinding equipment shall be capable of processing stumps, dirt, logs, and tree branches, brush, landscaping cuttings and trimmings and lumber scraps to the required product size. The discharge height of the processing equipment shall be capable of producing an end-product stockpile not to exceed fifteen (15) vertical feet. All powered equipment shall be equipped with spark arresting mufflers compliant with OSHA standards and operated and mounted so that noise levels do not exceed City of Waco or applicable standards for the type of operations. 3.2 The City of Waco shall maintain the right to grind or process wood or yard waste utilizing City owned equipment, as the City deems necessary. 3.3 The work to be performed under the terms and conditions of this agreement shall consist of furnishing all labor, transportation, equipment and supplies required to produce mulch from yard waste supplied by the City of Waco. The process shall involve the grinding of yard waste for volume reduction to a final product screen size no larger than 3”product. Vendor shall maintain daily operations on a continual basis until project completion. A minimum 8-hour operating day and 5-day workweek, Monday - Friday are required weather permitting. Weather delays must be documented by the contracted service provider and submitted to the City for approval on a weekly basis.
