The scope of work for this Request for Proposals (“RFP”) encompasses the facilitating of comprehensive lawn care and landscape maintenance services for designated Lower Rio Grande Valley Development Council (LRGVDC) properties. The selected contractor shall be responsible for furnishing all necessary labor, materials, planting materials, equipment, supplies, chemicals, and supervision required to deliver high-quality grounds maintenance and landscaping services. Services shall include, but are not limited to: mowing, edging, trimming, pruning, weeding, fertilization, pest and disease control, seasonal planting, irrigation system checks, trash and debris removal, and overall care of turf, trees, shrubs, flowerbeds, and other landscaped areas. The contractor shall perform all services in a professional manner that enhances the appearance, safety, and usability of the grounds. The properties covered under this RFP are listed above, and it is the expectation of LRGVDC that all grounds remain clean, healthy, and well-maintained year-round. The contractor will coordinate with designated LRGVDC representatives to ensure that the standards of service meet the organization’s operational needs and desired results. Turf Mowing The Contractor shall maintain all turf areas at an appropriate and consistent height to ensure a neat, uniform appearance and to the satisfaction of the LRGVDC. Once any location is started, it must be completed on the same day. Mowing Requirements Turf shall be cut to the appropriate seasonal height to promote healthy growth and maintain a professional appearance. Mower equipment pace must be to where the turf being mowed is not left with uncut patches or streaks or uneven throughout the entire lawn areas of the grounds. Equipment & Quality Standards Contractor shall use appropriate mowing equipment suitable for the property’s topography to ensure a high-quality cut and to minimize scalping or damage caused by uneven terrain. Edging The Contractor shall perform edging and trimming along all curbs, sidewalks, bed edges, and tree wells to maintain a clean and professional appearance throughout the growing season.
