Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Jail-Based Competency Restoration (JBCR) Pilot Program will be available for individuals determined Incompetent to Stand Trial (IST) and court-ordered to receive competency restoration education. Services may be provided to individuals with mental health, intellectual disabilities, or co-occurring psychiatric and substance use disorders. Participants will receive competency restoration education and individualized behavioral health treatment services. Goals of the JBCR Pilot Program include: A. Reducing the number and wait times for treatment for individuals on the Clearinghouse; B. Providing prompt access to clinically appropriate treatment; and C. Providing access to services to restore competency.
