Specifications include, but are not limited to: The required services to be provided are painting of interior dormitory buildings located at the San Antonio State Supported Living Center. The work consists of painting all walls, to include the corridors, lobby, dining room, bedrooms, doors, and trim work. The following referenced standards apply to this solicitation: A. ASTM D 16 - Standard Terminology for Paint, Related Coatings, Materials and Applications; 2007. B. 40 CFR 59, Subpart D - National Volatile Organic Compound Emission Standards for Architectural C. Coatings; U.S. Environmental Protection Agency; current edition. D. ASTM - E-84: Flame Spread- Class A Interior Finish with flame spread index between 0- 25, Smoke E. Development- Class A rating not to exceed 450. The following requirements are intended to describe the general scope of the project, but in no way limit, the contract with respect to the extent of work indicated in the specifications and is subject to the term and conditions of the contract: All existing drywall damages, dents, imperfections shall be repaired and painted as part of this project. Contractor shall ensure the surface preparation and field painting of the following: A. Exposed interior items and surfaces. B. Surface preparation, priming, and finish coats specified in this Section are in addition to shop priming and surface treatment specified in other Sections. Contractor shall paint ALL exposed surfaces, except where the paint schedules indicate that a surface or material is not to be painted or is to remain natural. If a surface area or item not specifically mentioned for painting, Facility Management shall have the final decision on the selection of colors and finishes. A. Painting does not include field painting of exposed bare and covered pipes and ducts (including color Coding), hangers, exposed steel and iron work, and primed metal surfaces of mechanical and electrical equipment.
