Specifications include, but are not limited to: The required services to be provided are instructors to support the Safe Riders Program with assistance in teaching the Child Passenger Safety certification courses in various Texas cities. The Department of State Health Services’ (DSHS) Safe Riders Child Passenger Safety (Safe Riders) Program, which is a program within the Community Health Improvement Office of Injury Prevention, provides child passenger safety technician certification courses across Texas. In some instances, Safe Riders will need to contract with organizations to provide Child Passenger Safety technician instructors to assist in teaching the certification courses. Instructors must: a) Hold current certification as a Child Passenger Safety instructor by Safe Kids Worldwide. The certification must be held for at least three (3) years at the contract start date. b) Have experience teaching or working with Safe Riders and submit proof of current Child Passenger Safety instructor status. c) Provide the National CPS Certification Training. d) Provide a list of community service experience. The list must be events hosted by organizations other than the respondent’s own organization.
