The Sky Tower was built in 2012 and during construction an area (shell space Operating rooms 7 and 9) that was assigned for future operating rooms, was left ready to install an MRI. University Health is commissioning a major construction and capital project for Operating Rooms 7 & 9, which will encompass two operating rooms and a MRI diagnostic room. One operating room configuration is specially equipped to provide a 3-Telsa intraoperative MRI capability as well as an ability to run both operating rooms simultaneously with routine inpatient diagnostic imaging. Perioperative Services is requesting the acquisition of one (1) IMRIS InVision 3T Operating Suite. The acquisition of the IMRIS InVision 3T Operating Suite will allow University Hospital to deliver unmatched intraoperative multi-modal imaging to assist in surgical decision-making and enhance precision treatment.
