Specifications include, but are not limited to: a) Contractor shall provide health professions supply and demand workforce projections (based on the Health Professions Resource Center (HPRC). b) Contractor shall furnish the Health Workforce Simulation Model for projections, all hardware and software necessary to produce projections, and data. 1. HPRC will transmit licensure data for the health providers included in the projection model to be used as a data input. c) Contractor shall provide projections for physicians by specialty, nurses (including registered nurses, vocational nurses, and advance practice nurses), oral health providers, behavioral health providers and other professions as required by HPRC. d) Contractor shall provide HPRC with technical support, as necessary to HPRC, to use the projections in reports, online, and other uses. The need for technical assistance will be determined by HPRC. e) The workforce projections shall include: 1. The production of a projected population file for each county. i. The contents of this file will consider current and projected future demographics, prevalence of select diseases (e.g., diabetes, cardiovascular disease, asthma, etc.), prevalence of obesity and smoking, and socioeconomic and insurance coverage. ii. Such files will provide the starting point for projecting demand for health care services by county, year, care delivery setting, and health occupation/specialty, which in turn is used to project future demand for health care workers. iii. Creation of this file will use the most recent data on population projections for Texas from the Texas State Data Center, American Community Survey (ACS), Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS), and other data sources such as Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) data for people in nursing homes and residential care facilities.
