Specifications include, but are not limited to: The City of Bastrop, Texas is seeking a contractor to provide the necessary equipment and labor for interment services at the City’s cemetery. This includes opening and closing of graves for full body burial, cremations, grave leveling and for dis-interments to locations specified by the City. The work shall require removal of excess dirt resulting from opening and closing of graves. 1. Scheduling – Contractor shall coordinate scheduling, services, inspection of graves, and soil transportation with City staff. 2. Excavation Services – The City is the property owner and manager and must be notified when the Contractor arrives at City’s cemetery prior to conducting any work. Graves shall be excavated prior to graveside services. The contractor must inform the City of any issues with regard to the property and the interment services. The contractor will promptly close the grave once burial services have been concluded. 3. Graveside Services – The contractor shall safely maintain open graves and keep them neat and orderly until the graveside funeral services have concluded. 4. The City may also request various additional services: such as, 1) grave repair such as levelling, filling, or backfilling uneven graves; 2) additional soil excavation and moving services. 5. Coordination – The contractor must be available to perform interments six (6) days a week, 365 days a year, except for the following holidays: New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Day, Texas Independence Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. 6. Types of Burials – The contractor must provide pricing per each standard grave opened and closed, for disinterment’s which include opening and closing the original grave, and pricing for each grave for infants or cremains (ashes) that are opened and closed or disinterred.
