The base bid of project includes but is not limited to the replacement of three split-system air handling units with new units featuring VRF heat pumps and coils. These units serve the cafeteria, southwest classroom wing, and library/admin spaces. The scope includes demolishing and replacing ductwork, installing new VAV boxes with electric reheat, and removing ceilings to facilitate ductwork installation. Some ceilings will be fully demolished and replaced, while others will be partially removed and reinstalled to match original conditions. An owner-furnished switchboard will be installed, and a nearby transformer will be relocated by the utility provider, with new power routing to the switchboard. Additionally, part of the outdoor brick wall will be demolished and replaced with fencing. Alternate 1: Replace one split-system air handling unit in the northeast classroom wing with a new unit featuring VRF heat pump and coil. Similar ductwork and ceiling modifications as the base bid will be performed. Alternate 2: Replace one split-system air handling unit in the southeast classroom wing, including demolition of associated ductwork and an existing hot water boiler. Ceiling modifications will be similar to other phases. Alternate 3: Replace eleven electrical panels campus-wide with new units. Alternate 4: Provide HVAC controls by ALC.
