Because it is much simpler and more cost effective to install cabling during the construction phase, the cabling system described in this Educational Specification is intended to be robust enough to handle all reasonable future requirements for a telecommunications wiring system at an UNITED ISD campus. An ideal structured campus‐wide cabling system will be capable of carrying video and voice traffic as well as traditional data to all user work areas, such as Administrative offices, classrooms, computer labs, media centers, libraries and teacher work areas. New technologies will blur the distinction between data, voice, and video, and the cabling system must be robust and flexible to accommodate the applications
