7.1. Standards: All work performed shall be performed and completed in accordance with best modern practices. 7.2. Direct Parent Support: 7.2.1. Conduct home visits or tele-intervention visits to provide instruction and support to assigned families according to program procedures, including use of the current Mentor curriculum. 7.2.2. Provide the families with a positive perspective from their day-to-day, real-life experiences as a Deaf person. 7.2.3. Work collaboratively with a variety of professionals providing services to the family (Birth to 3 Parent Advisor, Early Childhood Intervention providers, classroom teachers, or other service providers) as needed. 7.2.4. Provide ASL instruction to families as well as information about Deaf culture and community. 7.3. Direct Staff Support: 7.3.1. Review all family services with the Mentor Coordinator at least one time quarterly. 7.4. Documentation and Communication: 7.4.1. Follow best practice for support, mentorship, and guidance as defined by the Joint Commission on Infant Hearing (JCIH) Position Supplement (2007-2019). 7.4.2. Work collaboratively as needed with Services Coordinator and other Mentors and Role Models. 7.4.3. Maintain monthly records and reports as required by the agency, adhering to Mentoring services and agency policies, including confidentiality. 7.4.4. Attend training for administration of language assessments to families on your caseload, as well as participate in the pilot project of tracking language acquisition in the children you serve. 7.4.5. Using the SOC Language Assessment tool, to Families on your Caseload and provide reports to the Birth to Three Specialist in a timely manner according to the agreement. 7.4.6. Work collaboratively with ECI Service Coordinator and Parent Advisors as needed
