Specifications include, but are not limited to: The City of Denton is seeking qualified General Contractor to construct coolant modifications for the DEC winterization project. This project will require new construction to existing real property. 1. Tank insulation and heater not part of scope 2. The tank design shall be a field fabricated single wall above ground tank designed and built to API 650. 3. Tank erection services shall be provided by the Vendor. 4. Nozzle locations and orientations shall be confirmed by Black & Veatch during detailed engineering, after the first round of drawing submittals from the Vendor. 5. Required tank dimensions are 18' diameter (max) x 40' (approx.) shell height for a usable storage volume of 60,000 gal. Vendor to suggest more economical design not to exceed 18' in diameter. 6. Adequate venting for normal conditions shall be provided for the tank by the Vendor in accordance with the requirements of API 2000. One free vent and one PVRV vent shall be provided for the tank. The free vent shall be sized by the Vendor for 100% operatng flow rates. The PVRV shall be provided and sized for 100% operating flow by the Vendor to handle tank operations should a blockage to the free vent occur. 7. Horizontal access manways shall be provided with blind flanges and davit arm assemblies. 8. External quantities for piping support lugs shall be determined during detailed engineering, during the first round of drawing submittals from the Supplier. Piping support lugs shall be per drawing DM-2004B. Inlet piping to include downcomer with perforations along the length of the pipe, and should be supported by pipe supports per DM-2004 as guidance. 9. Flange bolt holes shall straddle natural centerlines. 10. Design roof loads shall be determined by the Vendor in accordance with the requirements of D100. Wind, Snow, Ice, and Seismic loading shall be used to confirm the roof loads required for design. As outlined in other documents, installation location is Denton, TX. In no case shall design roof loads be less than 25 psf. 11. Vents shall be provided with weather hoods and stainless steel mesh screens to keep out contaminants. Vents shall be sufficiently tall to clear snow (including potential for drifting) and/or ice, if applicable.
